When we grow up...

Everyone has always told Marina that she is the spitting image of her French mum. This continues to be a comfort and joy for her as her mum floats gracefully through the decades, ever full of inspiration and energy. Marina is so fortunate to have such a promising preview of a rather ageless future self.

Has anyone else noticed all the cool older women around? Joan Didion (in her 80s) and Iris Apfel (in her 90s) are both models in major haute couture ad campaigns, and they each look amazing and unique. Gloria Steinem (also in her 80s) was just featured by Lands End. Charlotte Gainsbourg, Twiggy, Helen Mirren and DIane Keaton are also being embraced in fashion, We are inspired! Not because they're trying to look 20, but because they are creating their own unique styles regardless of age.
For a long time, youth has dominated fashion (think 14-year-old Kate Moss), so it's refreshing to see different demographics out there illustrating life in a more multifaceted and realistic way. Becoming comfortable in your own skin can take a while, so seeing models reflecting a wider variety of ages is inspiring and reassuring. At Cloud, we believe our classic designs are compatible with styles of all ages:  beauty is everywhere.

Want to get inspired? Here is a slideshow of stylish older women and Ari Seth Cohen's fun New York street style site, Advanced Style. Check out also the #grannyhair trend.
