HAND WASH your cashmere using a gentle soap for delicates. The best are the no-rinse types, as they allow you to avoid overhandling your precious knits. We love Soak for washing cashmere and other knits, as it comes in a variety of lovely scents, or a scentless option. Soak pieces and gently work soap through before squeezing out the excess. (Dry-cleaning is often suggested for cashmere, but hand washing makes your cashmere softer and keeps those nasty chemicals out of your clothing.)
GENTLY DRY & BLOCK your garment after it is washed. Roll your garment in a towel gently to press out extra water. Lay the piece to dry on top of a towel out of direct heat or sun. Make sure you shape it to its original dimensions.
IRONING? A gentle iron is ok, if used carefully. Iron using the wool setting or, to be even more gentle, just steam the piece to remove any wrinkles.
STORING your cashmere is simple -- if you can stand to put it away! Make sure the piece is completely clean and dry before wrapping in tissue and storing. We use a ziplock bag for storage, but if you prefer a breathable option, a garment bag is great. Add some lavender or cedar pieces to ward off moths.
You can gain more control over your life by paying closer attention to the little things."
